Equal Pay Day

The national observance of Equal Pay Day in 2023 is on Tuesday, March 14th.

The day when we recognize the existing wage gap between working women and men.  This date shows how far into 2023 women must work to earn what men earned by the end of 2022.  Women in Hawaii earned 79.4 percent of what men earned in 2020, compared to 82.3 percent nationwide.  The State’s ratio fell below 80 percent for the first time since 2011.  Furthermore, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Island women only earn 66 percent of white male earnings nationally.
