About the event

Abigail (a.k.a. Abbi) Eli is a former AAUW Honolulu Academic Scholarship Awardee who aspires to become a school psychologist. Abbi recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and is currently enrolled in a graduate psychology program at Chaminade University. Abbi has a soft heart for underserved children and teens escaping physical, emotional and sexual abuse. During the pandemic, Abbi literally opened her heart and her home to these vulnerable young adults and her community in Waianae. She fulfilled her dream of providing a safe home to those less fortunate with very few resources while caring for her own biological and hanai keiki. Abbi currently serves as the Executive Director and President of the Mahaka Community Center (http://www.makahacommunitycenter.org/about.html). Please attend this Talk Story Tuesday to enjoy a heart warming story that inspires hope.
